Police Accuse New Fairfield Man of Driving Drunk, Crashing Twice

Police say the first incident took place in a Brewster restaurant parking lot and the second happened on Route 6.

New York State Police charged Grant E. Retallick Jr., 54, with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, in connection with two incidents Jan. 17.

Police said that the New Fairfield, CT resident left a Brewster restaurant and struck two vehicles in the parking area before fleeing the scene. He was then involved in another crash while traveling on Route 6. Troopers located his vehicle on Route 6, disabled as a result of the collision.

Retallick supplied a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .22 percent, more than two times the legal limit of intoxicated, police said.

Retallick was issued traffic tickets ordering him to appear before the Town of Southeast Justice Court on Jan. 27.
