Police: Brewster Woman Stole, Used Credit Card

She faces forgery, larceny, identity theft, stolen property and other charges.

New York State Police charged Heather Zito of Brewster with 2 counts of Forgery 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree, 3 counts of Petit Larceny, Identity Theft 3rd Degree, and Unlawful Possession of Personal Identification Information 3rd Degree, following a credit card fraud complaint reported to police in April.

Troopers interviewed a Town of Southeast woman who reported that her credit card had been compromised. The victim reported that she was alerted to several fraudulent purchases made on her credit card.

After investigation, police alleged that Zito, 44, had used the victim’s credit card to make about $590 worth of fraudulent purchases.

Zito was arraigned before the Town of Southeast Court and released on her own recognizance. She is due to return to court July 7.
