Power Outage: NYSEG Says 8,600 Putnam Customers Are in the Dark

The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Putnam, Rockland and Westchester.

Repair crews are hoping to have power restored by 8 or 10 p.m. SundayΒ to the roughly 4,500 Brewster and Southeast residences that lost it during afternoon storms.

The New York State Electric and Gas Company listed the outages, which were affecting about 8,600 customers across Putnam County, around 4:40 p.m. They were reportedly contained to the Brewster, Carmel, Kent, Patterson, Putnam Valley and Southeast.

The National Weather Service is calling for scattered showers and thunderstorms through the rest of the afternoon and into the evening in Brewster. Expect "heavy rainfall" as the day continues.
