Putnam Democrats Hold Pre-Election Rally
The historic courthouse was the backdrop.

News from the Putnam County Democratic Committee:
On Saturday morning, approximately 100 supporters braved the cold to support Democratic candidates, from Hillary Clinton to Putnam County races.
The rally was held on the steps of the historic County Courthouse in Carmel, and emceed by former Congressman John Hall. Speakers included Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney, NYS Senate Candidate Alison Boak, and Assembly Candidate Brian Higbie.
“The turnout and enthusiasm was even more than I expected” said Putnam County Democratic Chairman Jim Borkowski. “”We were especially encouraged by so many motorists honking in support, and giving us the thumbs-up”.
Putnam County is the only county in the Hudson Valley with majority Republican registration. In the last three years, however, more voters have registered Democrat than Republican.
“Putnam County is turning Democratic, and we are working hard to make that happen. Democrats should come out on November 8 th and vote for their candidates”, said Borkowski.
John Hall, founder of the band Orleans, played music to close the rally.
