Putnam Deputies Stop 3 with Revoked, Suspended Licenses
Three drivers, two of them Putnam residents, are due in court to answer the charges. One had 16 suspensions on his license, cops said.
PUTNAM COUNTY, NY – Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley, Jr. reports the arrests of two men and one woman for driving with suspended licenses.
- On April 8, while on patrol at 1:30 p.m. in Southeast, Deputy Sheriff Shawn Iarussi stopped a vehicle on Route 312 after observing it had no front license plate and had dark tinted windows. A computer check revealed the driver, Ronnie E. Foskey, 23, of Roslyn Heights, NY was driving with a revoked license that had sixteen active suspensions by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles. Iarussi arrested Foskey and impounded the car. He was taken to the Sheriff's Office, charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 2nd Degree, a misdemeanor, and released on $250 bail. Foskey is due to appear in the Town of Southeast Justice Court on a future date.
- On April 12, while patrolling in Putnam Valley at about 5:47 p.m., Deputy Sheriff Charles Johnson noticed a vehicle traveling westbound on Bryant Pond Road with dark tinted windows. The deputy stopped the car, and a computer check revealed the driver, of Putnam Valley, had her license suspended by the DMV for failure to pay a fine. Johnson charged her with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 3rd Degree. She was processed at the scene, released without bail and is scheduled to appear in the Putnam Valley Justice Court on a future date. UPDATE: the court case was dismissed.
- On April 11, while on patrol in Philipstown at about 10:28 a.m., Deputy Sheriff Anthony Tolve observed a vehicle traveling on Route 9 with a loud exhaust. Tolve stopped the car, and a computer check revealed the driver, Austin F. Knoeppel of Cold Spring, had his license suspended by the New York State DMV for failure to answer a summons in Putnam Valley Town Court. The 24-year-old was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree, processed at the scene, and issued summonses to appear in Philipstown Justice Court on a future date.
