Putnam Driver Accused Of Drug Possession, Suspended License

He was stopped on Valentine's Day.

PATTERSON, NY — Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. reports the arrest of a Patterson man for drug possession and driving with a suspended license.

At 10:50 a.m. Feb. 14, Deputy Kevin Osika saw a vehicle commit traffic violations on Haviland Drive and Doansburg Road, in the Town of Patterson. Deputy Osika stopped the car and checked the New York State Department of Motor Vehicle’s computer system.

Police say it revealed that the driver, Gideon Taub, 28, had a driver’s license that was suspended in the State of New York. A subsequent investigation also revealed that Taub was in possession of the prescription pills Alprazolam and Amphetamine/Dextroamphetamine, for which he did not provide a prescription.

Taub was placed under arrest and transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility for processing. He was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (Misdemeanor), Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of A Motor Vehicle in the 3 rd Degree (Misdemeanor) and various traffic infractions.

He was released on $250 cash bail and is due in Town of Patterson Justice Court, at a future date.
