Putnam Hospital to Hold Summer Blood Drive

Donations decrease usually during the warmer months.

Carmel, NY — Blood donations are usually down in the summer months, so Putnam Hospital Center is putting out a call to fill the gap by hosting a blood drive in collaboration with the American Red Cross.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, July 28, a blood drive will be held in the Michael T. Weber Conference Room 2, 670 Stoneleigh Ave. in Carmel.

In the New York-Penn Blood Service region, the organization needs to collect approximately 1,000 units of blood each day to meet the needs of patients, organizers said.

The blood drive is open to Putnam Hospital Center employees and the general public.
