Putnam Sheriff: Croton-on-Hudson Woman Charged in Check-Forging Case

She was an employee.

A Town of Patterson business owner filed a complaint Feb. 4 with the Putnam Sheriff’s Department concerning discrepancies in the business bank accounts.

An investigation was conducted which resulted in the arrest of Kelly Grady, 41, of 4 Dove Court, Croton-on-Hudson.

Grady was an employee at the business with access to the checking accounts. Police allege their investigation revealed she possessed forged checks from the business and would cash the checks.

On April 22, Grady surrendered herself to the Sheriff’s Department and was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Second Degree, a felony. She was processed and released in her own recognizance pending a future appearance in the Town of Patterson Justice Court.

If found guilty of the felony charge, she could face up to seven years in a New York State Correctional Facility and a fine of at least $5,000.
