Putnam Sheriff: Dog-Walking Teen Reports Attack

The girl told police she struggled during the incident Monday and he drove away.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a reported attack upon a teenaged girl in Putnam

Valley.

The girl, 14, was not seriously hurt in the incident, police said.

The victim reported that she was walking her family dog along Timberline Court in Putnam Valley at about 5 P.M. on Monday, when the attack occurred. The girl told police that a stranger drove up in a car, got out and grabbed her. A brief struggle ensued and then he got back in his car and drove away.

The victim used a cell phone to call 911. Sheriff’s deputies and state troopers responded to the area and attempted to locate the suspect, without success.

The girl suffered minor scratches in the incident. She was taken to New York- Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt Manor, where she was treated and released.

The girl described her attacker as a white male, in his 20s, approximately 5’ 6” tall, who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black sneakers. The car he was driving was described as a later-model silver or white four-door sedan. The car had New York license plates with a white-colored background.
