Putnam Sheriff IDs Woman Who Jumped from I-84 Bridge near Brewster
A Danbury, CT resident, she used to live in Southeast.

The woman who leaped to her death from the high bridge over Route 6/22 yesterday near Brewster was a former Southeast resident, said Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith.
The Sheriff’s Office identified her as Kathleen A. Kondrat, 69.
She lived on Shady Lane in Southeast before moving to Danbury, CT about six months ago, police said.

The divided spans, also known as the high bridge, are 90 feet above the roadway.
Police said a man driving on I-84 saw her cross the span and notified a work crew. Almost simultaneously, the Putnam Sheriff’s Office and the County 911 center received calls about a woman lying in the road beneath the bridge.

The county coroner pronounced her dead at the scene.
