Putnam Stands with Putnam/Northern Westchester Women’s Resource Center Against Domestic Violence
Two events in the county this month to raise awareness against domestic violence

CARMEL, NY – Putnam County Executive MaryEllen Odell and county employees will stand together on the steps of the Historic County Courthouse with the Putnam/Northern Westchester Women’s Resource Center Oct. 20 in an effort to raise awareness against domestic violence.
During the month of October, the issue of Domestic Violence is recognized through national awareness campaigns.
The PNWWRC and People Against Domestic Violence will also host a Walk to End Domestic Violence starting at 12 p.m. Oct. 22 at St Mary’s Church, Main Street, Cold Spring. The walk will proceed down Main Street.

On Oct. 20, PNWWRC Executive Director, Ann Ellsworth, will be joined by County Executive MaryEllen Odell, Senator Terrence Murphy and county employees, dressed in purple to demonstrate their support, county officials said in a press release.
A press conference will be held for the PNWWRC to publicly thank State Senator Terrence Murphy, who is running for a second term, for his grants over the past two years to enhance the agency’s Domestic Violence Advocacy services in Putnam County. It is also scheduled to highlight those leaders, including Odell, who have and continue to support the Women’s Resource Center’s mission to end domestic violence and all forms of violence in our county, county officials said.
