Putnam Woman Accused Of ID Theft, Larceny
Police initially tried contacting the woman, but said she was uncooperative.
CARMEL, NY — A Putnam County woman was accused of using someone else's identity to pay for cellphone bills. Yorktown police charged Kristen M. Rucci, 30, of Carmel, with first-degree identity theft and third-degree grand larceny, both felonies.
Police said that, on August 25, a larceny complaint was received by the department.
An investigation found that Rucci obtained a man's personal information and used it to pay cellphone bills in the amount of $3,317.49.

Police said they tried contacting her, but she was uncooperative.
Officers applied for and were issued a warrant for her arrest Jan. 15.

On Feb. 25, police went to the Carmel Police Department where Rucci was being held.
She was arrested and taken back to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing.
Rucci was arraigned, with bail or bond set at $10,000. She couldn't make bail and was sent to the Westchester County Jail.
Rucci is due back in Yorktown Justice Court Feb. 28.
