Service For Dr.Sidney Glanz

Dr.Sidney Glanz, Sr. DDS, of Brewster, NY, died in Carmel on January 23, 2019. He was 95 years old.

Born on March 7, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Murray and Rose (Garber) Glanz, Sidney graduated from New Utrecht High School in Brooklyn. He continued his education and graduated from NYU then Temple University Dental School in Philadelphia, PA. He honorably served in the US Army.

On December 8, 1960 he married the love of his life Patricia Flaherty. Patricia predeceased Sidney on May 23, 2017.

Dr. Glanz was an avid outdoorsman. He was a member of the Outters Club in Wingdale and loved hunting and fishing and shooting. He was a member of the Brewster Rotary Club, and the Brewster Elks Lodge.

He loved animals, especially dogs, and was a true Mets Fan.

He owned his own Dental practice and proudly served his patients from his offices in both Patterson and Brewster for 37 years before retiring.

Sidney is survived by his children; Melodye Glanz, of Florida, Sidney Glanz, Jr. of Casper, WY, and Edward Glanz of New Fairfield Connecticut, as well as his sister Elaine Zucker of Yorktown Heights, NY. He was predeceased by his daughter Laurel.

A graveside service will be held at Milltown Rural Cemetery, Milltown Road, Brewster, NY on Tuesday January 29, 2019 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dr. Glanz’s name to the Putnam Humane Society or to the Disabled American Veterans.
