Services Set For Carmelo Singleton, 11

Singleton was killed March 2 during the nor'easter when a tree crashed into his house.

PUTNAM VALLEY, NY — The 11-year-old boy killed March 2 when a tree crashed into his Putnam Valley home during the nor’easter will be buried after an 11 a.m. graveside service Wednesday, March 11. Carmelo Prince Singleton was born Jan. 15, 2007 to Arin Travis, who survives him.

Singleton was home with his mother at the time of the accident.

According to his obituary, he loved playing his PlayStation.

Besides his mother, Singleton is survived by a brother, Chase Monroe Travis, his grandmother, Vicky Kennedy, great-grandfather Charless Robert Keesler Sr., aunts, cousins and other relatives.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 6 at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Rd., in Montrose.

The graveside service will be at Hillside Cemetery, Oregon Road, in Corltlandt Manor.

There is a GoFundMe fundraising page to help Singleton’s family with funeral expenses. So far it has raised more than $33,000.
