At 8:35 a.m. Feb. 22, Deputy Sheriff Jonathan Irwin was on patrol in his cruiser on U.S. Route 6 in Mahopac when he spotted a motorist driving a car on which an expired inspection certificate was displayed. The deputy stopped the car and identified the driver as Michael L. Power of 10 Adair Road in Cortlandt Manor.
During the traffic stop, the deputy alleges he discovered that the 35-year-old was in possession of a quantity of OxyContin, for which he did not possess a valid prescription.
