Sheriff: Woman Refused to Return Borrowed Car
The Putnam County Sheriff's Office provided the following information. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 50-year-old Patterson woman is facing a misdemeanor charge following an incident involving a borrowed vehicle, police say.
Investigator Michael Nalbone of the arrested Kathy Emslie July 10, according to a report released Monday morning. Police said they received a complaint from a Patterson resident who reportedly lent her 2005 Kia Spectra to the defendant. The latter was to use the vehicle for "a couple of hours."
"When her car was not returned, she [the complainant] contacted Ms.Β Emslie, at which time it is alleged that Ms. Emslie refused to return the vehicle to itsΒ rightful owner," authorities said. "...Β The car was finally returned to the complainant on July 10, at which time Ms.Β Emslie was arrested by Investigator Nalbone and charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle in the third degree."

Police released Emslie pending a July 23 appearance in Patterson Justice Court.
