CARMEL, NY — Three people are accused of shoplifting in three recent incidents at the Tops Supermarket in the Putnam Plaza shopping center.

Tops Loss Prevention officials called Carmel police twice on March 3. At 1:47 p.m. Officer Bambach took a Danbury man into custody and at 7:36 p.m. Officer Detz took a Brewster woman into custody, police said. Each was charged with petty larceny and given a court date of March 21.

On Monday, Officers Zaccone and Bambach responded to the supermarket for yet another shoplifter. Tops Loss Prevention staff alleged a Mahopac 43-year-old had stolen $370 worth of merchandise. She was transported to Carmel Police headquarters for processing, charged with petty larceny and issued an appearance ticket with a return date of March 20.
