Skimmers Found At Putnam Gas Pumps
The Putnam County Sheriff reminds residents to be careful when buying gas with credit or debit cards.
SOUTHEAST, NY — The Putnam County Sheriff's Office is investigating credit card skimmers found at gas stations in Southeast and in Philipstown.
Meanwhile, the sheriff warns residents and travelers to be wary of credit card mechanisms at local gas stations. Tips:
- Look at the opening, see if it shows signs of damage.
- Pull on it.
- Monitor your credit card history.
- Report unauthorized use.
