Son Accused Of Killing Father Found Dead After Trailer Park Fire

Putnam Sheriff's Office investigators arrested him after a 10-month probe.

PUTNAM COUNTY, NY — Saying the death of a Philipstown man whose body was found after a trailer home fire was murder, Putnam County detectives arrested his 20-year-old son on Sunday.

Louis Joseph Weber IV was charged with Murder in the Second Degree and was being held without bail in the Putnam County Correctional Facility.

Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley, Jr.said investigators arrested the younger Weber after a lengthy investigation into the fire.

Called to the fire at the Post Road Trailer Park Nov. 4, 2019, neither sheriff's deputies nor firefighters were able to gain entry because the home was already engulfed in flames.

The North Highlands Fire Department extinguished the fire with the assistance of the Cold Spring, Garrison and Fishkill fire departments.

After the fire was knocked down, a search of the residence led to the discovery of the body of the homeowner, 72-year-old Louis J. Weber. SEE: Putnam County Man Found Dead After Trailer Home Fire.

While Langley did not say what led to the investigation, he commended the Sheriff’s Investigators for their diligence. He also thanked the Putnam County District Attorney’s Office and the NYS Office of Fire Prevention for their assistance in the months long investigation.
