Brewster swimmers to compete in states

Brewster sisters Alexis and KelliAnn Valedon will be competing this weekend in the state championships at Eerie Community College in Buffalo.

Preliminaries are at noon today and the finals take place on Saturday starting at 10 a.m.

Brewster's head coach is Brittany Kozlenko and her assistant is Mike Costaldo.

Bears cross-country duo to take part in Federations

Brewster cross-country runners Justin Maguire (two-time all-state) and Ariana Bottalico (three-time all-state) will take part in the Federation championships Saturday, Nov. 19 at Bowdoin Park in Wappingers Falls.

Bottalico will run at 12:15 p.m. and Maguire at 1 p.m.

"Justin and Ariana have had incredible seasons," Brewster coach Joe Scelia said. "It has been a long season, and all the miles and races certainly have taken their toll. They have to just go for it. They are racing against some of the nation's best runners."

"They both know the course well, and have the experience of running in pressure spots," Scelia continued. "I am confident they both will carry the momentum forward in this race and excel."

Brewster Bears varsity wrestling fund-raiser

The Brewster Bears varsity wrestling team will be having a flapjack fundraiser from 8-10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 20 at Applebees’s on 115 Independent Way (off exit 19 int. 84 near the Home Depot-Kohls-Southeast Train Station) in Brewster.
