Southeast Traffic Stop Leads to DWI Charge for Danbury Man
It started on Route 6 at 4AM.

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Danbury man on a DWI charge.
At 4:03 a.m. Oct. 17, Deputy Sheriff Kevin Radovich stopped a motorist who had committed a traffic violation on Route 6 in the Town of Southeast.
The deputy determined that the driver, identified as Mario A. De Paz-Espino of 233 White Street, Danbury, Connecticut was intoxicated. The deputy arrested De Paz- Espino and charged him with Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor, after the man failed a series of standardized field sobriety tests.

The 29-year-old was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and held pending arraignement.
If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, the defendant could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
