SPCA Police Donation Box Stolen From Market: Putnam Sheriff

A Poughkeepsie resident was arrested.

PUTNAM COUNTY, NY — A Poughkeepsie man is accused of stealing a donation box full of money from the Appalachian Market on Route 9D.

Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. reports Deputy Benjamin Levine and Deputy Matthew Boscia were dispatched to the market when a larceny was reported.. They were told that on the night of Jan. 9, the Putnam County SPCA Police Donation Money-Box was stolen from the store.

After an investigation, Christopher Rodriguez, 20, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested and charged with Petit Larceny (Class “A” Misdemeanor).

Rodriguez was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and subsequently arraigned in the Town of Kent Justice Court, on behalf of the Town of Philipstown Justice Court. He has a future court date in Philipstown.
