Telephone Retirees To Meet In Brewster
The group includes NYNEX, NY Telephone, NJ Bell, Bell Atlantic, MCI, GTE, New England Telephone, and Verizon Directory Operations retirees.

BREWSTER, NY — Dozens of Verizon retirees from across the Hudson Valley and New York City region will get together this month for a discussion about some of the retirement issues that affect and concern them. The free event is sponsored by the non-profit Association of BellTel Retirees, which was founded as an advocacy group by fellow members of the Verizon community. The event will take place July 24 in Brewster.
Founded in 1996, the Association of BellTel Retirees which now has over 134,000 members from across the nation, fights to protect retirees earned pensions and health care benefits. Its members include retirees from the old Bell System companies, including NYNEX, New York Telephone, New Jersey Bell, Bell Atlantic, MCI, GTE, New England Telephone, Verizon Directory Operations (now IDEARC/Supermedia).
There is no cost to participate for members of the Association of BellTel Retirees. New members who are retirees or active employees within the Verizon community are welcomed and encouraged to participate.

WHEN: 10:30 a.m. July 24
WHERE: The Brewster Elk’s Lodge, 1430 Route 22 (at Milltown Rd) in Brewster, NY. This location is within minutes of the intersection of RT 84 and 684, as well as RT 202 and RT 6. It can also be reached via the MTA Metro North Harlem line.
