Fasano and Mullaney are captains for Brewster Skiing: Southeast-Brewster Daily Sports Digest, Jan. 18

Brewster Skiing

We thank Brewster skiing coach Mary Conklin for the below submission, above pictures—and wish the team good luck this season!

The team captains, Matt Fasano and Kayla Mullaney, are good team leaders, hoping to lead to a successful season. 

The boys’ team includes Matt Fasano, Connor Heanue, John Young, Joe Bettini, and Anthony Marturano. 

The girls’ team this year includes Kayla Mullaney, Charlotte Lester, Natalie Jara, Rebecca Rupolo, Olivia Cantonessa, and Isabella Schiavone. 

Returning racers Kayla Mullaney, Matt Fasano, John Young and Connor Heanue all competed at sectionals last season and Kayla Mullaney at states. 

Brewster will compete on the league level at Thunder Ridge Ski Area against the following teams: Carmel, North Salem, Somers, Mahopac, Horace Greeley, Scarsdale, Byram Hills, Blind Brook, and Mamaroneck. 

Sectionals will be held at Catamount on February 15^th and states at White Face on March 27^th and 28^th.  Good luck to our racers!

Brewster Youth Wrestling shines

We thank the Brewster Youth Wrestling Club for the below submissions and congratulate all involved on a job well done!:

At their first formal tournament competition of the season-The Brewster Youth Wrestling Club sent 20 wrestlers to the Danbury Youth Tourney event in  5 different age groups:

(Mighty Mites are 6 and under) (Bantam 7 & 8 years old) (Intermediates 9 & 10 yr olds) (Novice 11 & 12 yr olds) (Schoolboy  13 & 14 yr olds) under the guidance of Head Youth Wrestling Coach David Bancroft (Age was determined by year of birth).

(Note: All the Senior Starters for Tom Looby’s Brewster Varsity started at this level)

Brewster WC was able to claim two champions in Mighty Mites  Kevin Fox & Novice Division David Bancroft 

1^st Place : Mighty Mites Kevin Fox won by Major Decision 10-1 over Dalton Messina Southington WC /46 sec pin over Rayven Duquette Gladiator Wrestling Club

1^st Place  Novice David Bancroft won by 7-2 dec over Samuel White Norwalk WC / 45 sec pin over Gus Heminway Ridgefield WC / 3-1 dec over Hunter Fleming Fish Eye WC
