The two teams played to a 5-5 tie in regulation with Joe Wegwerth's goal in overtime giving Brewster a thrilling 6-5 triumph.

Looby and Duncan record milestones

At Day I (Jan. 7) of Mat Wars at RCK HS Brewster went 5-0 as a team.

Coach Tom Looby recorded his 100th career coaching victory (vs Goshen) and senior wrestler Jimmy Duncan (134 pounds) recorded his 150th career victory (first Brewster wrestler to reach this milestone).

He started the day with a pin against New Paltz Karl Linneman, followed by a 19-2 tech fall against Goshens Lance Golubinski, picked up a FFT win against Highland, scored his 150th with a pin vs East Ramapo's Kevin Arevalo, finished the day with another pin of Chad Kortz of Colonie HS.
