Unemployment Rate in Putnam Dropping Still

The unemployment rate for the Putnam-Dutchess county region dropped by just over 1 percent in the past year, state Labor Department officials report.

It was 4.6 percent in March 2015, compared to 5.7 percent in March 2014.

Putnam has one of the lowest unemployment rates in New York—4.4 percent last month. That’s down substantially from 5.0 reported in February.

• Nassau County (4.3%)
• Putnam County (4.4%)
