The self-guided audio tour is complemented with a video and gallery of renderings and floor plans that highlight new clinical areas, environmentally friendly construction highlights, an overview of the medical center’s future campus and the different phases of the construction project. A display offers touchable materials that will be used throughout the new pavilion.
The prototype was built so employees and residents could preview and explore some of the more exciting aspects and benefits of the 700,000-square-foot building for which the expected cost is $466 million. When complete, the pavilion will include 264 private patient rooms, 30 critical care rooms, a 66-room emergency department, 12 surgical suites, a 300-seat conference center and more.
Groundbreaking for the patient pavilion is scheduled for Sept. 13.
