Visitation, Service For Francis C. Palmer

A Brewster businessman, Mr. Palmer was active with the Knights of Columbus, VFW and Little League.

Francis C. Palmer, 92, of Brewster, NY died 11/21/2018 at Regional Hospice of Western CT.

He was born 12/3/1925, son of the late Henry and Catherine (Cunningham) Palmer. He was predeceased by Helen (Brandon) Palmer, his wife of 60 years. He was a graduate of Brewster High School. Fran proudly served his country during of World War II in the U.S. Navy, serving on the U.S.S. Augusta (CA-31) a Northampton-class heavy cruiser and the USS Lang (DD-399) a Benham-class destroyer.

Francis founded Palmer Plumbing, Palmer-Macomber Fuel Oil, and Southeast Builders. He was a member of St. Lawrence O'Toole Church in Brewster, a member of the Knights of Columbus, the VFW Post 672 and he was active in Brewster Little league for many years.

He is survived by his sons Christopher (Donna), Michael (Nancy), Stan, Stephen(Babs), Richard(Cindy) and Dennis(Denise). He treasured his 14 grandchildren, Mark, Kristin, Garett, Shauna, Brad, Ryan, Daniel, Brett, Kerry, Richard, Jeffrey, Kyle, Darren and Francis, and his 16 great grandchildren Casey, Annie, Andrew, Hayley, Jake, Kate, Brandon, Tessa, Taylor, Hank, June, Mack, Ryann, Dylan, Skyler and Emily.

He is survived by his brother Richard. He was predeceased by his sister Margaret, his brother Joseph, and his lifelong friend and business partner, Bill Macomber.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church on November 25, 2018 at 10:00am. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday, 11/24/2018 from 4 to 8 PM at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY.
