Weekend DWI Arrests In Putnam County

SOUTHEAST, NY —State Police from Troop K removed 20 impaired drivers from the roadway over the weekend of July 6-8. One of them was asleep in his car blocking an I-684 off ramp.

On July 6, 2018, State Police from SP Brewster arrested Bruno L. Souza, 25, of Danbury, CT, for DWI, Aggravated unlicensed Operation in the 1st degree, and Bail Jumping in the 3rd degree. He was traveling on Interstate 84 in the town of Southeast, NY, when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation.

On July 7, 2018, State Police from SP Brewster arrested Roberto A. Rubio Melendez, 24, of Carmel, NY, for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 6 in the village of Brewster, NY, when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation.

On July 7, 2018, State Police from SP Wappinger arrested Damir Dadachov, 31, of Mahopac, NY, for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 9 in the town of Phillipstown, when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol.

On July 7, 2018, State Police from SP Brewster arrested Juan M. Escobar Martinez, 34, of Danbury, CT, for DWI. He was traveling on Main Street in the village of Brewster, and was stopped after striking a parked vehicle. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol.

On July 8, 2018, State Police from SP Dover Plains arrested Brian L. Huber, 27, of Dix Hills, NY, for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 22 in the town of Patterson, when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol.

On July 8, 2018, State Police from SP East Fishkill arrested Jorge L. Pereira, age 22, of Danbury, CT, for DWI. He was traveling on Interstate 684 in the town of Southeast, when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol.

On July 8, 2018, State Police from SP Brewster arrested Marco T. Dubon Gonzalez, 26, of Stamford, CT, for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 22 in the town of Southeast, when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol.

On July 8, 2018, State Police from SP Cortlandt arrested Kathryna V. Gigler, 29, of Putnam Valley, NY, for DWAI Drugs. Gigler was traveling on Oscawana Lake Road in the town of Putnam Valley, when she was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that she was impaired by drugs.

On July 8, 2018, State Police from SP Brewster arrested Shawn C. Smith Jr., 23, of Los Angeles, CA, for DWI. Smith was found sleeping in his vehicle blocking the Interstate 684 off ramp to Danbury Road in the town of Southeast. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol.
