Weekend DWI Detail Includes Brewster, Southeast Arrests

State Police in Troop K said they removed 19 impaired drivers from public roadways over the weekend of March 23.

SOUTHEAST, NY — State Police in Troop K said they removed 19 impaired drivers from public roadways over the weekend of March 23. Among them were four arrests in Southeast. Two Brewster residents were also accused.

  • On March 23, State Police from SP Somers arrested Matthew S. McClean, 24, of Brewster, NY, for DWI. He was traveling on Interstate 684 in the town of Bedford, when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol, police alleged.
  • On March 23, State Police from SP Brewster arrested Elder A. Pelaez Pelaez, 29, of Stamford, CT, for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 22 in the town of Southeast, when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol, police said.
  • On March 24, State Police from SP Brewster arrested Garber Cruz, 44, of Danbury, CT, for DWI. He was traveling on Interstate 84 in the town of Southeast, when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol, police said.

  • On March 24, State Police from SP East Fishkill arrested Maxie Soto, 45, of Port Washington, NY, for DWI. He was traveling on Interstate 84 in the town of Southeast, when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol, police said.
  • On March 24, State Police from SP Somers arrested Thomas J. Rippchen, 70, of South Windsor, CT, for DWI. He was traveling on Interstate 684 in the town of Southeast, when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol, police said.
