Cops: White Powder Around His Nose Leads to Danbury Man's Arrest in Southeast
It started with a routine traffic stop.

SOUTHEAST, NY — Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Connecticut man on a charge of drug possession.
At 2:06 a.m. Sept. 25, Deputy Sheriff Jonathan Irwin stopped a motorist who had committed a traffic violation on Sodom Road in Southeast.
During the course of the traffic stop, the deputy observed what appeared to be white powder around the nose of a passenger in the vehicle. Investigation revealed that the passenger, identified as Selvin Donis of 87 Franklin St., Danbury, Connecticut was in possession of a quantity of cocaine, police allege.

The deputy arrested the 23-year-old and charged him with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, a misdemeanor. Donis was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and held pending arraignment.
If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, he could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
