A Wintry Weather Redux?

Here's the latest weather forecast for Brewster and Southeast.

It looks like there’s another chance of wintry precipitation likely to cause angst among drivers this week. The National Weather Service is predicting snow could begin late afternoon Wednesday and continue overnight into Thursday.

Less than an inch is expected in Brewster, but it could be somewhat disruptive during the evening or morning commute.

A major snowstorm will not develop, according to Accuweather, nor will black ice be an issue as it was Sunday morning, but enough snow could fall to cause headaches for travelers and potential interruptions to daily routines for residents. Motorists should prepare for roads to turn slushy and slippery, while airline passengers may be faced with delays.

Putnam County will be north of most of it, predicts Hudson Valley Weather. “A weak clipper will pass by to our south, keeping most of its limited moisture south as well. But some light snow is possible Wednesday night. It’s disorganized… and spotty… but a dusting to an inch can’t be ruled out. If it does reach us, it could impact the Thursday AM commute.”

“The main time for travel problems along the I-95 corridor from Philadelphia to New York City on Wednesday will be during the evening and overnight hours,” said AccuWeather.com Senior Meteorologist Dave Dombek. “The snow will struggle to accumulate within this zone during the day due to above-freezing temperatures and melting. During the evening, the worse it can get for travelers as temperatures fall.”
