• New cell towers and Verizon small cells planned across Southold (northforksun.com) — Southold Town is moving ahead with long-planned upgrades to fix spotty cell service, including new towers in Mattituck, the Cutchogue and Southold fire districts, and a taller tower at the animal shelter. Verizon is also proposing the town’s first small-cell antennas on utility poles in problem areas like Hogs Neck, Kenney’s Beach, McCabe’s Beach, Hortons Point, and Peconic, with some projects needing public hearings. 
• Maureen's Haven Homeless Outreach Comedy For A Cause (danspapers.com) — Southold residents are among those helped by Maureen’s Haven, which is hosting a Comedy For A Cause fundraiser on October 10 at the Village Idiot Pub in Riverhead. Proceeds support emergency winter shelter and case management for homeless individuals across the East End, including Southold, with tickets and sponsorships available through the nonprofit.
