D1 Training, Premier Athletic Fitness Brand Expands to Staten Island on July 13

STATEN ISLAND, NY. (July 13, 2026) –D1 Training, a leading fitness enrichment concept utilizing the five core tenets of athletic-based training, will be opening a new location in Staten Island at 2655 Richmond Ave on July 13. The new group fitness facility employs a sports-science backed training regimen led by certified trainers to help people of all ages achieve their sport and fitness goals.

In celebration of the new location’s launch, Staten Island neighbors and residents are encouraged to stop by and meet the facility’s team at its opening day. An official grand opening event will take place in late August, which will also feature a ribbon cutting ceremony and exclusive promotions.

D1 Training Staten Island is locally owned and operated by Rosnel Dorsainvil, who will join a roster of impressive existing franchisees, including former professional and collegiate athletes. Additional D1 partners include NBA star Chris Paul and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow.

Rosnel Dorsainvil, known to his athletes as “Coach Ros,” is a New York native, a U.S. Army veteran, a retired New York state trooper, and a seven-time New York City Public Schools Athletic (PSAL) champion coach. Drawing on his passion for athletics as a former Division 1 college football athlete and a high school football assistant head coach, defensive coordinator, and strength and conditioning coordinator, Dorsainvil has always envisioned creating a specialized training facility where athletes could follow a structured curriculum, have access to professional equipment, and develop the skills needed to excel in their sport. After recognizing the need for performance focused athletic training in the New York metropolitan area, he decided to bring D1 Training to Staten Island to provide athletes of all ages with expert coaching and a supportive environment where they can build confidence, enhance performance, and succeed both on and off the field.

“Sports have shaped my life from my time as a college athlete to coaching the next generation of players to seven PSAL championships, and I have seen firsthand the impact that quality training can have on a young athlete’s confidence and development,” said Rosnel Dorsainvil. “I wanted to bring a program to the New York area that gives athletes of all ages the opportunity to train with purpose and develop the skills they need to succeed in sports and in life.”

D1 Training offers four age-based programs including Rookie (ages 7-11), Developmental (ages 12-14), Prep (ages 15-18) and D1 Adult. Each fitness program is based on the five athletic-based tenets: dynamic warm-up, performance, strength program, core and conditioning, and cool down. Outside of group workouts, D1 Training offers group, semi-private, and one-on-one training with world-class coaches. The goal is simple: to continue to train athletes who are dedicated to their sport or fitness goals, regardless of age, or athletic background.

“Rosnel Dorsainvil is the ideal candidate to bring the D1 Training experience to Staten Island,” said the brand’s Chief Operating Officer, Dan Murphy. “We’re thrilled to welcome him to the D1 family and are confident in his ability to show the Staten Island area what they’ve been missing out on. D1 is a one-of-a-kind fitness experience that’s built around the individual and meant to help people meet their athletic goals. Our strong network of franchisees embodies our core values to bring the D1 Training vision to life, and we know Rosnel will do just that in Staten Island and its surrounding communities.”

Strategically expanding across the nation through franchising, D1 Training has more than 150 facilities open with over 100 additional locations in various stages of development. The brand is currently seeking financially qualified business builders, former athletes, and entrepreneurs, who share a passion for fitness and youth sports, who are ready to make a positive impact on their community.
