Construction MOVES AHEAD on New $34 Million Ronald McDonald House at Stony Brook Children's Hospital (longisland.com) — Families with children at Stony Brook Children's Hospital will soon have a nearby 30-room Ronald McDonald House, now under construction and expected to open in late 2027. The $34 million facility will give parents and siblings a comfortable place to stay, share meals, and find support just steps from the hospital during serious medical treatments.
   

2. 2 years after storm destroyed Harbor Road, residents still waiting for repairs (news12.com) — Harbor Road in Stony Brook remains washed out two years after a 2024 storm destroyed the dam and drained the beloved duck pond, leaving residents frustrated and detoured. Ward Melville Heritage Organization says construction plans should be ready by the end of August, while Brookhaven's highway superintendent hopes bidding this winter will allow road and pond work to start next year.
