• Stony Brook Marks 25 Years Since 9/11 (southshorepress.com) — Stony Brook University is launching a yearlong series of 9/11 remembrance events, starting with a Sept. 9 talk by history professor Nancy Tomes on Long Island's experience of the attacks. The campus will also host a Staller Center program on Sept. 10 and a symbolic 110‑story stadium climb on Sept. 13 to help students connect with the tragedy's legacy.
   

• Mattoo Center for India Studies (stonybrook.edu) — Stony Brook residents connected to the university can get to know the scholars behind the Mattoo Center for India Studies, which anchors Indian studies on campus. The piece introduces core and adjunct faculty, highlighting their expertise in linguistics, religion, philosophy, and the arts of India that enrich courses and public programming at Stony Brook University.
   

• 9/11 health conference to spotlight WTC Health Program impact (firerescue1.com) — Stony Brook's WTC Health Program clinicians will join a Sept. 3 conference examining the long-term health impacts of 9/11 and the federal program that treats responders and survivors. Hosted by Mount Sinai and open to the public via livestream, the event will feature medical experts, advocates and former officials discussing emerging health findings and the future of care and compensation.
