5K Raises Over $30,000 For Local Hospitals

PLAINVIEW, NY - The recent Heart and Sole 5K raised a total of $30,000 for the both Plainview and Syosset Northwell Health hospitals.

The race, which took place on the streets of Plainview last month, had nearly 400 participants.

The honoree for this year’s race was Legislator Judy Jacobs, who is also director of community relations at Northwell Health.

“We appreciate all the people who came out to participate in the day’s 5K walk/run and children’s fun run,” Alan Mensch, MD, senior vice president of medical affairs at the hospitals and the race’s organizer, said. “It has been a great opportunity for 13 years for people and families to get out there, exercise and have some fun.”
