WOODBURY, NY — Woodbury is getting a little sweeter with Milkshake Factory coming to town.
The Pittsburgh-based franchise is setting up shop on Jericho Turnpike in the Woodbury Common Shopping Center, marking the first Long Island and New York location.
Milkshake Factory states on their website that their family has been making European chocolate recipes since 1914, all starting when their great-grandparents came ot the U.S. through Ellis Island. They opened a small chocolate shop and ice cream soda fountain in Pittsburgh before expanding across the coast.
The sweet shop will have everything from gourmet and classic milkshakes to sundaes and root beer floats to non-dairy shakes, like peanut butter and cookies & cream, to name a few.
Their sundaes, like the strawberry shortcake, feature "housemade vanilla ice cream."
Walking past the storefront, the door lists a way to enter for a chance to win "free milkshakes for a year."
The shop will open in the 1,550-square-foot space later this year, according to Long Island Business News.
