Person Struck By Train Near Syosset, Port Jefferson LIRR Service Partially Suspended: MTA

LIRR service between Hicksville and Huntington was suspended Thursday morning after a person was struck by a train, officials say.

SYOSSET, NY — Long Island Railroad service was suspended between Hicksville and Huntington Thursday morning after a person was struck by a train near Syosset, the MTA said.

MTA officials did not identify the person who was struck, but said that service had been suspended on the Port Jefferson branch between Hicksville and Huntington as of 9:41 a.m.

Thursday morning, MTA officials said train passengers could take Ronkonkoma branch trains for service between the suspended stations.
