A Belgian man was arrested on Friday after police say he assaulted a man while at a catering hall in Woodbury.

According to police, officers were called for a disturbance at the Inn at Fox Hollow, located at 7755 Jericho Turnpike in Woodbury, just after 8 a.m. Friday. When they arrived, police say the officers determined that Joel Tambwe Djeko, 29, from Belgium, had gotten into an argument with a 32-year-old man. The argument escalated, police say, and Djeko hit the man in the face with a glass, causing a concussion, a broken nose and cuts to his face.

Djeko was arrested at the scene without incident. The man was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.
