Nassau Police are investigating possible drowning of woman found floating in cove.

Nassau Homicide Squad said they are waiting on toxicology reports before they confirm the cause of death. A positive identification has not yet been made, said police.

Nassau County Homicide Squad is investigating the death of a woman discovered floating in Oyster Bay Cove Thursday afternoon.
Police and marine units responded to Gracewood Association beach off Cove Neck Road in Oyster Bay Thursday after receiving reports of a body floating off shore, said authorities. Oyster Bay Fire Department recovered the body of an unknown woman visible from a private beach on Cove Neck Road, just feet from the site, confirmed police.

The victim is described as a white female in her 40s, but a positive identification has not yet been made, reported police. Detectives say they are investigating her death as a possible drowning.
