Children in Need Receive Early Holiday Gifts
Recently, 12 children received new bicycles, helmets and accessories earlier this month.
Recently, 12 children in need received the special early holiday surprise of new bicycles, helmets and accessories at The Bicycle Planet in Syosset.
These generous gifts were donated by Bikes For Kids in America, The Bicycle Planet, and Massapequa Bicycle Club.
Donors Enrico DeLuca, founder of Bike for Kids in America, Howard of The Bicycle Planet, and Ed Major from Massapequa Bike Club joined the staff and volunteers of Family Service League (FSL), a non-profit human service agency, at the event on Dec. 10 to support the families and teach the children to ride their shiny new gifts.

"A single good deed has the power to inspire any person to pay it forward and give back to others as it personally did for me," DeLuca said.
Since he founded this charity in 2013, the organization has given away over 1,300 bikes to children in 6 states.

“Their gift provided not only the children with the fun of riding a bicycle but it also reminded these struggling families that they are not alone," Karen Boorshtein, FSL President and CEO said. "This unique donation helps us fulfill our mission to help individuals, children, and families to mobilize their strengths and improve the quality of their lives at home, in the workplace and in the community.”
