SYOSSET, NY — Hundreds attended the Syosset Fire Department's yearly fire prevention event Sunday, with firefighters teaching families how to avoid and extinguish various types of infernos.
Participants rode on fire trucks and learned how to properly use fire extinguishers. The event was held at the department's headquarters on Cold Spring Road.
