Jericho Firefighters Extinguish Fully-Involved SUV Fire
The North Service Road leading to the Long IslandExpressway remained closed for an hour as firefighters extinguished the flames.
JERICHO, NY — Traffic is back to normal after firefighters with the Jericho Volunteer Fire Department extinguished the flames of a Range Rover that caught fire Wednesday just before noon, officials said.
The fire forced the closure of the North Service Road to the Long Island Expressway for about an hour as crews worked the scene. It's not clear what caused the SUV to burst into flames.
The driver was not hurt, but the vehicle was totaled, officials said.
