Man Pretended To Carry Gun In Plastic Bag During Bank Robbery: Police

The bank was robbed on Friday evening.

WOODBURY, NY - A Woodbury bank was robbed on Friday evening, according to Nassau Police.

A man entered Capital One Bank on 8285 Jericho Turnpike at about 5:35 p.m., began yelling for the tellers’ to open the door to the teller station and then vaulted over the teller station, ordering them to open their cash drawers.

The man stole an undisclosed amount of cash and fled southbound on foot. He simulated carrying a handgun inside a plastic bag during the robbery.

There were three employees and no customers inside of the bank at the time of the robbery.

No injuries were reported.

The robber is described as a black man between 25 to 30 years old, 5-foot-10 to 6-feet tall with an average build, wearing a red, white and blue bandana covering his face, a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, gloves, and boots, police said.
