Nassau Officials Warn Residents of Valuable Assets Division Scam

SCAM ALERT: The scam involves residents receiving letters that promise "Cash Funds Payments and Valuable Merchandise Opportunities."

Nassau County officials have issued a warning to local residents about a local scam from a company claiming to be holding a package and requesting payment for delivery.

The company—Valuable Assets Division—is not accredited with the Better Business Bureau.

Numerous complaints on the company have been filed with the Nassau County Police Department.

The scam involves residents receiving letters that promise “Cash Funds Payments and Valuable Merchandise Opportunities,” which can be obtained by sending a processing fee of $20 through the mail.

According to Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano, this is a confirmed scam and residents should disregard any such letter they receive.

“I urge Nassau’s residents to be mindful of any phone call or letter they receive urging them to send money in the mail,” Mangano said. “Notices like this are a scam and should be reported to the proper authorities.”
