Plainview Water District Invites Nassau Residents to Donate Gifts This Holiday Season Through 'Toys For Tots'

Now through December 16, residents and business owners are invited to donate toys inside the Plainview Water District

Plainview, NY (December 2, 2015) – The Plainview Water District Board of Commissioners Joel R. Kessler, Andrew N. Bader and Marc B. Laykind recently announced the District has once again volunteered to be an official drop-off location for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve ‘Toys for Tots’ Program.

“The Plainview Water District is proud to once again serve as a drop-off location for ‘Toys for Tots,’” said Chairman Joel Kessler. “There is a widespread need for donations. We hope to see our community member’s step forward and donate gifts to the less fortunate children this holiday season.”

Toys for Tots is a nonprofit dedicated to collecting new, unwrapped toys to distribute as gifts to less fortunate children in the community that the campaign is conducted. Now through Wednesday, December 16, residents and business owners are invited to donate toys at the designated bin inside Plainview Water District’s administrative office, located at 10 Manetto Hill Road.

“In the past the collection bin has overflowed with toy donations and we hope to continue that tradition this year,” added Commissioner Andrew Bader. “It’s a wonderful feeling when the truck arrives to pick-up the collection bin from our office and we know our community has pulled together and will make all the difference in the world by providing disadvantaged children with gifts this holiday season.”

‘Toys for Tots’ receives many gifts for young children. Suggested items for young teens include sporting equipment/bags/balls; books, backpacks, cosmetics, purses, watch/wallet gift sets, bath gift sets, board games, radio control cars/trucks, hand-held electronics, skateboards/helmets, curling irons, hair straighteners, and hair dryers.
