South Woods Accepts Blue Ribbon

Representatives from South Woods Middle School accepted a National Blue Ribbon in November.
Principal Michelle Burget attended a recognition ceremony, hearing a reading from teacher Jane Maslin, and accepted a plaque and flag for the honor in Washington, D.C.
US Secretary of Education Arne Duncan spoke at the ceremony and congratulated South Woods and other recipients on their progress and accolades as a school. Just 314 schools were chosen nationwide to receive the 2012 honor.
