South Woods Students Dominate Science Olympiad Western Long Island Regionals
Team 1 from South Woods placed second out of 42 teams.

Students at South Woods Middle School left the Science Olympiad Western Long Island Regionals with a total of 34 medals.
Three South Woods teams competed against 42 teams in the tournament held at Wisdom Lane Middle School in Levittown.
Team 1 from South Woods came in second place. They won 11 events, took home 22 medals and qualified for the state competition at Minoa High School in East Syracuse.

Members of Team 1 include: Maanuv Allu, Eugene Aspiras, Syndey Chen, Rebecca Geiger, Ben Huang, Jason Lan, Cole Menchel, Alina Pratkin, Merin Thomas, Katrina Tun, Vanessa Vija, Grace Wang, Emily Wong, Yannan Xu and Andy Yang.
The two other South Woods teams came in seventh and eighth place and brought home 12 medals.
