Syosset Fire Department Re-Schedules "Santa on the Trucks"
Bad weather sets back event to next Sunday, December 19.
Santa Claus is coming to town - when weather conditions are better.
The volunteer firefighters of the Syosset Fire Department have been bringing Santa to the streets of Syosset and Woodbury since the 1960s - but this year the kids will just have to wait an extra week to see old Saint Nick.
The severe weather forecast for this Sunday, December 12, includes wind-driven rain of up to two inches. This led SFD Chief of Department John Capobianco to postpone the 2010 “Santa on the Trucks” run to Sunday, December 19.

“Santa on the Trucks is a great tradition in our community and we wanted to make sure we were undertaking this joyous day of holiday cheer under weather conditions that are both safe for our members and also allow the public to come out and meet Santa and their local volunteer firefighters,” said Chief Capobianco.
There is no confirmed starting time for the event yet, so stay with Patch for more details coming this week.
